Subject: STAFF VACANCIES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced permanent members of staff to fill the following vacant posts in the Western Region. Interested candidates should complete the relevant ZESA Internal Application forms and include their EC numbers and contact cell phone/telephone numbers.

INSTALLATION INSPECTOR-NKETA CLIENT SERVICE CENTRE

Qualifications and Experience

• Recognized Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• National Diploma or Technician’s Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• 4 years relevant Post Apprenticeship experience.
• 33 Kv Switching Authorization.
• A valid and clean class four driver’s licence.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carries out new connections, installation inspections and statutory inspections as necessary.
• Carries out physical disconnections on all dangerous installations.
• Advises customers and contractors on wiring regulations for each application made.
• Supervises assistants so as to comply with Safety Regulations.
• Compiles all wiring regulations.
• Visits sites to come up bills of quantity and recommends on connections.
• Conducts seminars for contractors on installation standard regulations.
• Conducts awareness campaigns to the public.
• Any other Electrician duties as assigned by the Customer Services Officer.

LEAD ARTISAN-NKETA CLIENT SERVICE CENTRE

Qualifications and Experience

• Recognized Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• National Diploma or Technician’s Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• 4 years relevant Post Apprenticeship experience.
• 33 Kv Switching Authorization.
• A valid and clean class four driver’s licence.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implements planned maintenance programs according to schedules and engineering specifications.
• Carries out construction and maintenance of substations and lines up to 33 Kv.
• Diagnoses and rectifies faults in the system.
• Ensures that safety measures are adhered to in the distribution network.

LINESPERSON-ENTUMBANE CLIENT SERVICE CENTRE

Qualifications and Experience

• Linesman 2 Certificate.
• At least 3 years relevant experience as a Lines Assistant.
• A clean Class 2 Driver’s licence would be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Constructs, maintains and inspects distribution lines.
• Surveys and pegs overhead lines.
• Assists in substation construction.
• Produces monthly reports on line crew activities
• Supervises and ensures maximum safety at work areas for his line crew.
