Background
UN Women under the Joint Programme for Gender Equality (JPGE) is supporting the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Gender and Community Development (MWAGCD) to develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation system for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment (GEWE) which is in line with the Government's National Monitoring and Evaluation Policy which was officially launched in September 2015. To facilitate this process, UN Women seeks to recruit a national UNV Monitoring and Evaluation Intern who will support the MWAGCD with the process. The process is divided into two phases (i) support development of the M & E system (ii) support operationalization and implementation of the M & E system.
The UNV Monitoring and Evaluation Intern will be located at UN Women Zimbabwe under the supervision of the UN Women Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The UNV will work closely with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development.
UNV Monitoring and Evaluation will support implementation of the Joint Programme on Gender Equality accountability pillar with a special focus on supporting the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development to develop and implement the national M & E system on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. This is an activity supported by UN Women through the Joint Program on Gender Equality (JPGE).
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of UN Women Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the guidance of the Ministry of Women Affairs, gender and Community Development Director-Gender, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Support the process of developing the Monitoring and Evaluation System on GEWE:
  • Contributes to reviewing draft reports produced by consultants;
  • Assist in coordinating meetings for the priority sectors – i.e. Reference Group and Core group meetings;
  • Assist in coordinating meetings with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development;
